Having over 25 years’ experience in mineral econometry, mine development, production and planning, Clarkson’s experience has been grounded at the world’s biggest mining operations including Codelco’s copper mine in Chile and Vale’s iron ore mine in Brazil. In the last decade, Clarkson’s experience has been largely in greenfield and brownfield exploration and mine development on various bulk mining, base metal and precious metal commodities in Africa, having worked in South Africa, DRC, Zambia, Zimbabwe and CAR. Clarkson co-founded Wakanda Resources in 2018.

Emile has a versatile skill-set spanning across the development of detailed techno-economic feasibility studies for mining projects to the actual build and implementation of mining projects into producing mines. Emile has an intimate understanding of South African mining assets especially as it relates to the Bushveld Igneous Complex which hosts South Africa’s PGM, Chrome and Vanadium resources. His mining career encompasses the management of detailed technical and financial feasibility studies as well as the implementation of mineral resource projects targeting the extraction and processing of Chrome-rich UG2, and PGM bearing reefs. Emile has extensive experience in fully mechanised, conventional and opencast operations in South Africa.

Oomeshnie’s core skillset is metallurgy, process design, optimisation and innovation. She is arguably one of the leading ferroalloy process design experts in the world having worked with all ferroalloy production technologies including Glencore’s Premus technology and Samancor’s DC furnace technology, during an illustrious 20 years collective experience at both these Chrome companies. Oomeshnie was the lead process design expert for both of Xstrata’s (Glencore) Lion expansions having been part of the original team that was responsible for the development of Xstrata’s Premus technology

Rakesh’s career spans some 20 years in mining and metals investments in Sub-Saharan Africa. Having started in the mining business of South Africa’s Industrial Development Corporation, he moved to Xstrata (now Glencore) as Head of Business Development and Strategy and was instrumental in building Glencore Alloys into the world’s leading chrome producer. In 2013, Rakesh co-founded Greystreet Capital, a private equity company which was the general partner to the South African leg of US based, Denham Capital’s African investment platform. Rakesh co-founded Wakanda Resources in 2018.

Rodney’s mining career spans some 34 years, mostly at senior management level for South Africa’s biggest mining houses. During this time, Rodney has developed and operated some 13 mines at operations across the Wits Gold Basin and the Bushveld Igneous Complex. An expert in hard rock mining, he has led teams in both labour-intensive conventional mining to fully mechanised mining environments. Rodney’s inclusive management style is well regarded and has successfully delivered on the operational strategies for the various projects and operations under his stewardship.
